1. Is my English good enough to join Rich-del Toastmasters?
After visiting our club, you will realize we have members with different levels of English. Only basic English is required and if are willing to speak in English, then you are able to participate in the club activities. The only requirements we have are the ability to try, practice, and learn.
2. What makes Rich-Del unique?
At Rich-Del, we believe in creating a warm, friendly community of motivated individuals both inside and outside the meeting. When possible, we like to have social events for members to know one another and have fun!

3. How much time does toastmasters take?
Each meeting is a maximum of 1.5 hours a week. For members preparing a speech or taking a role in meeting, the preparation time may vary depending on the project and the role.
4. Other than doing speeches, how else can I grow by joining toastmasters?
Speeches are the output of all the work you put into all your activities. We have several leadership opportunities within the club, district and international level. There are also committees within our club to help plan and run special events, like our open houses!
5. Will any of the meetings be in person? What if I am not located in Richmond, BC?
We are currently doing ZOOM meetings, which means that you can enjoy the Rich-Del environment anywhere! In the future, we are looking at hybrid meetings (to be announced). We will always try to accommodate our members!
6. What if I don't know how to do certain speeches or roles?
Many people will be new to Toastmasters! Each new member is assigned an experienced member of the club to be his/her mentor. They will help you become situated with the meeting, roles, speeches and Toastmasters' experience in general.
The club will always try to support your learning goals!
7. I am part of a different Toastmaster's club, can I still attend your club?
Definitely! You are welcomed to join us as a guest and participate in Table Topics! However, if you want to do a speech or take a role, you will need to be a member of our club. Until you are convinced, join us for some fun! Anyway, you can be a member of several Toastmaster club if you so wish it!
8. How often do I need to make a speech or how long does it take to complete a pathway?
The decision is up to you! It depends on how much time you set aside for preparing and practicing for your roles and speeches. Some projects encourage taking up leadership roles whether inside toastmasters or outside, and to talk about it. Other projects need you to do research and talk.
You can always schedule a speech weeks in advance, if you need the time to prepare.
Similarly, a Pathway completion is dependent on your motivation to learn all you can through each project and schedule your speeches within the club.
The earlier you start, the sooner you will improve!
The more time you set aside for Toastmasters' activities, the more rapidly you will advance in your learning!
